He has been playing professionally for 30+ years and has worked and/or recorded with a wide range of artists including Ellis, Jason, Delfeayo and Branford Marsalis, Donald Harrison, Wessell Anderson, Wycliffe Gordon, Brian Blade, Victor Goines, Roy Hargrove Big Band, John Hicks, The Brand New Heavies, Paul Simon, Wilson Pickett, Daniel Lanois, John Boutte, Mark Whitfield, Helen Sung, Brice Winston, Tim Warfield, David Torkanowsky, Nicholas Payton, Reggie Quinerly, Mike Longo, Lafayette Harris, Houston Person, Eddie Allen, Taylor Mac, Donald Edwards and many others across the United States, Germany, France, Austria, China, Korea, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Spain, St. Barth’s, Anguilla, Albania, United Kingdom, Italy and Norway.
Currently, Drye can be heard around New York in clubs like Smoke, Smalls & Mezzrow, Little Branch, Zinc Bar, Fat Cat, The Django, Fine & Rare, Flatiron Room, and The Roxy Hotel, as well as internationally. Drye has also managed music for the Hearst Corporation, in their tower in midtown Manhattan for the last 5 years, as well as other institutes like the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Drye can also be seen in 1000W, a Jim Watt art project designed to raise $100,000 for musicians in need. Drye is a partner/producer at the Samurai Hotel recording studio in Astoria, Queens.
