A born and raised NOLA native, her appreciation for music, creative arts and love for her community led her to her role as Executive Director to aid in removing societal barriers of success while creating an artistic environment for youth to thrive. She brings with her 18+ years of operational leadership roles, spanning from lead and software implementation, program design management, strategic planning and contracting to CMCNO.
Maya earned her bachelor’s degree in health care management, before obtaining her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Phoenix in 2016. She comes from a long line of musicians and is carrying on the tradition with her own family. She has been a longtime advocate of New Orleans music and its rich tradition’s influence around the world and plans to provide strategic direction and vision to ensure the CMCNO mission’s success.
Prior to CMCNO, Maya gained expertise in program management, event planning, disaster recovery, federal funding compliance, and currently serves as a Senior Field Services Consultant for Louisiana Department of Health Bureau of Vital Records and Statistics. She’s trained regional teams, successfully established the infrastructure for growth development with corporations as well as negotiated lucrative contracts. She’s accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and pursuing her license in notarial law. Maya is proud to be serving CMCNO mission as its Executive Director.
